Autoblitz Mayer is a family business for car detailing and paint protection in Schwaikheim, north-east of Stuttgart. We work on paint, leather, plastics and interiors in our own workshop, from the everyday car to the enthusiast’s vehicle.
Who we are
The Mayer family,since 1997
Autoblitz Mayer has been in family hands since 1997. The owner is Thomas Mayer, and both sons now work in the business. It was founded in Weinstadt-Endersbach, and since 2004 the workshop has been on Kornweg in Schwaikheim. Vehicle care has grown into a specialist business that does not detail cars by a fixed scheme: every job starts with a close look at your vehicle, then we discuss with you what makes sense and where the limits are.
For ceramic coatings we are a trained and certified GYEON detailer. For leather repair we have been listed in the assessment catalogue of FILK Freiberg since 2014, and we cut LLumar paint protection film on our own plotter in house. While it is in our workshop your vehicle is insured up to EUR 125,000.
Location and directions
From Stuttgartto Schwaikheim
Schwaikheim lies in the Rems-Murr district between Waiblingen and Winnenden. From Stuttgart city centre it is around 25 kilometres: take the B14 towards Backnang as far as the Schwaikheim exit, and from there it is a few minutes to Kornweg. Depending on traffic the drive takes about half an hour.
From Schorndorf, Weinstadt and Kernen you come via the B29 onto the B14. From the A81 take the Ludwigsburg-Nord exit and drive via Remseck to Schwaikheim. We are open Monday to Friday from 8 am to 6 pm and on Saturdays from 9 am to 2 pm, and appointments outside opening hours are possible by arrangement. Paint protection film
A transparent TPU film lies over the paint as a replaceable layer and cushions stone chips and scratches. We cut it on our own plotter and lay it by hand. You choose whether only the front or the whole vehicle is protected.

A ceramic coating changes the surface of the paint: water beads off more easily and dirt adheres less. Before coating we clean thoroughly and polish only as far as necessary. As a certified detailer we use GYEON products.

Wash marks and holograms spoil gloss and reflections. We first measure the coating thickness and then polish in stages, as little as possible and as much as necessary. Four packages range from Gloss Refresh to the High-End Enthusiast Package.

Worn seat bolsters, colour abrasion and scratches do not automatically mean reupholstering. In our own leather workshop we mix the colour and rebuild the surface. We also work on leather furniture.

We clean fabric upholstery, carpets, leather and plastics to suit the material. Stains are pre-treated in a targeted way, and electronics only get carefully dosed moisture. With mould we look for the cause first.

Sticky switches and air vents are a problem of the aged coating. We remove it from the original part, rebuild the surface and restore symbols 1:1. You can also send us removed parts.

Orange-brown specks on the paint are usually iron particles oxidising there. We dissolve them chemically before anything is rubbed or polished unnecessarily. We only check the result after rinsing.

Many small deformations in the metal can be repaired without harming the paint. Whether this works for your damage is something we check on the vehicle. Under paint protection film too, we first try to work the dent with the film in place.

With classics and modern classics we match paint care, cleaning and interior work to the existing substance. We separate patina worth keeping from damage. The aim is a coherent result, not a blanket “as new”.

Send us your vehicle, your concern and ideally three photos, by form, phone or WhatsApp. We get back to you with a first assessment.

We assess bindingly on the vehicle. We check material and condition and discuss with you what makes sense and where the limits are.

We agree scope, costs and date. You drop your vehicle off with us in Schwaikheim and we carry out the agreed work.
- 04Collection
At the agreed time you collect your vehicle. We look at the result together and explain the care that follows.

What does vehicle detailing include?
That depends on the vehicle. On the outside it includes a hand wash, removing residues such as iron fallout and tar and polishing if needed; on the inside it includes cleaning upholstery, carpets, leather and plastics. Then there are repairs to leather and plastics and, on request, protection with a coating or film. We discuss which steps make sense at the vehicle.
What is the difference between detailing and paint protection?
Car detailing restores the condition: cleaning, paint correction, repairs to leather and plastics. Paint protection preserves the result or enhances it, for example with a ceramic coating or paint protection film. At our workshop the two go together, because coatings and film need a properly prepared surface.
How far is Autoblitz Mayer from Stuttgart?
From Stuttgart city centre it is around 25 kilometres to our workshop in Schwaikheim, about half an hour on the B14 depending on traffic. You will find the exact route under contact and directions.
How much does car detailing cost in the Stuttgart area?
The price depends on the size of the vehicle, its condition and the scope. A flat figure would therefore say little. Tell us your vehicle and your concern in the free enquiry, ideally with photos, and you will receive a first assessment.
How long does vehicle detailing take?
That depends on the agreed work, so we do not give a flat processing time. We agree the appointment and the collection time with you after the inspection.
Do I have to come to Schwaikheim for an assessment?
Not necessarily for the first step. Photos and a short description often give us a first orientation. However, we assess paint, leather and plastics bindingly on the vehicle, because many things cannot be identified reliably from photos.
Is my vehicle insured while you work on it?
Yes. We have business liability insurance and workshop insurance, and your vehicle is insured up to EUR 125,000 while it is in our workshop.
Do you only detail sports cars?
No. We work on the everyday car as much as on the enthusiast’s vehicle. Our project archive has classics and sports cars alongside vehicles such as an Audi Q3 or a VW bus.
