Porsche 992 Turbo S Convertible

Starting point

The solid black Porsche 992 Turbo S Convertible was delivered to us as a new car directly from Porsche on a trailer and received an exclusive package from us. At the inspection, several defects were immediately apparent: many deeper scratches, many holograms, adhesive residue, damaged wheels and missing paint on the diffuser. The paint depth measurement we carry out on every car also showed very thinly painted doors.

Work

All paint defects had to be eliminated before wrapping. With paint layers this thin, experience is decisive, because even the first polishing pass can strike through the paint or permanently damage the clear coat. The wheels were replaced by the manufacturer; we sealed the new wheels with a ceramic coating. Then came the paint protection film: LLumar Valor, applied with our pre-cut film patterns tailored to the 992, which greatly minimise cutting on the car. All plastic parts painted by Porsche in body colour were wrapped, as were the door entries, where paint defects were already visible. Finally, all the remaining plastic parts received a special ceramic coating with UV protection, which gives the plastic a deeper black. According to the report at the time, the film is about 200 µm thick, self-healing, ceramic-like coated, does not yellow, loses no gloss, is recognised by insurers and, according to the manufacturer, can remain on the paint for up to twelve years; warranty card and roll number included.

Result

The Turbo S left the workshop with corrected paint, paint protection film and ceramic coated wheels and plastic parts.
