Porsche GT3 RS 4.0

Starting point

Only 600 examples of the Porsche GT3 RS 4.0 were built. Anyone who was able to buy one drives it not only on country roads but also on the race tracks at Hockenheim and the Nürburgring. Paint and body suffer under this extreme use. A special stone chip protection film is indispensable here to preserve the car’s value, and the earlier it is applied, the longer the new-car shine lasts. The Porsche factory in Zuffenhausen is only 18 kilometres from our workshop in Schwaikheim.

Work

As a base, the paint was treated with the LZ 730 brilliance sealant. Since it contains no silicones or polymers, the film can be laid directly on top of it; the sealant also enhances the reflection of the paint beneath the film. The paint protection film, which protects the original paint against stone chips, scratches and insect etching, was applied to the door mirrors, front apron, rear wing, front luggage compartment lid and roof. On the side panels left and right it was extended upwards and taken over the complete wheel arch. The rear apron was wrapped across its entire lower section, as were the door entry areas on both sides. After wrapping, the film was sealed with a spray gloss, which makes it smooth and lets dirt wash off more easily.

Result

The film is applied so that it is barely perceptible to the eye, and the paint beneath shows its full deep gloss. For the LZ 730 brilliance sealant the report at the time stated a durability of two years. After our work, the car went to our customer in California in the USA.
