Porsche GT3 RS 4.0

The Porsche GT3 RS 4.0 was built in a limited run of only 600 cars. Anyone who owns such a car drives it not only on country roads but also on race tracks such as Hockenheim and the Nürburgring. Under this strain, paint and body suffer, so a stone chip protection film serves to preserve value: it protects the original paint from stone chips, scratches and insect etching. The earlier the paint is protected, the longer the new car condition lasts; from Zuffenhausen to Schwaikheim it is only 18 kilometres.

Work

Under the paint protection film we used the LZ 730 brilliance sealant. It contains no silicones or polymers, so the film can be applied afterwards, and it supports the gloss of the paint beneath the film. The paint protection film was applied to the door mirrors, front apron, rear wing, boot lid and roof. On the left and right side panels the protection was extended upwards and pulled over the entire wheel arch; the whole lower area of the rear apron and the entry area on both sides were wrapped as well. Finally the film was sealed with a spray gloss so that it stays smooth and is easier to clean.

Result

The film is laid so that the eye can barely make it out, while the paint beneath keeps its depth of gloss. According to the report at the time, a durability of two years was stated for the LZ 730 sealant. After our work was complete, the Porsche GT3 RS 4.0 went to our customer in the USA, in California.
