Mercedes SLS

Starting point

A Mercedes SLS belongs in professional hands, ideally straight after delivery, because the earlier the paint protection is applied, the longer paint and body keep their new-car shine. This is especially convenient for AMG cars: the factory in Affalterbach is only 8 km from our workshop in Schwaikheim, and on request we seal the car, in agreement with the dealership, even before the delivery date. On the cars shown here in black and red, however, the paint had already been sanded by incorrect polishing technique, which had produced holograms. There were also surface scratches to be removed.

Work

The surface scratches were removed with clean paint technique, and we then polished away the holograms. The paint received the LZ 730 brilliance sealant, which is suitable for every type of paint and produces a smooth, glass-like surface with a deep gloss effect. For protection against stone chips, scratches and insect etching, paint protection film was applied to the complete front apron or front bumper, to the sill trims left and right and to the carbon trims in the door entry areas on both sides. After wrapping, the film was sealed with a spray gloss so that it stays smooth and dirt is easier to wash off.

Result

The film is laid so professionally that it is hardly noticed. The high gloss accentuates the silhouette of the SLS, the paint colour looks richer, and as so often after the brilliance sealant, the car appears wider and lower. According to the report at the time, a durability of two years was stated for the LZ 730 sealant. For ongoing care we will put together a care programme for you on request.
