Mercedes Benz G500

Starting point

This G-Class wears the matt paint finish G manufaktur Night Black Magno. This colour is very sensitive: if a matt paint gets a stone chip or scratch, the damage cannot be touched up as on a normal paint. That is why the exposed areas of the G 500 were to be protected.

Work

We fitted the G 500 with a LLumar stone chip protection film and our Keramik-Carbon ceramic coating. Wrapped were the bumper, grille surround, the square frames of the lights, bonnet, windscreen frame, wheel arch extensions front and rear, the front door entries and the loading sill. The film was cut precisely on our film plotter, so no cutting on the paint was necessary. We apply our ceramic coating not only to paint but also to plastics, glass and metal; we have a dedicated variant for each material. According to the manufacturer’s information in the report at the time, the LLumar film is impact-, knock- and scratch-resistant, self-healing, car-wash safe, temperature-resistant, removable almost without residue and recognised by insurers; the material warranty was stated at the time as 10 years. For cleaning and care, a care product for matt surfaces was used.

Result

The exposed areas of the G 500 are now protected against stone chips and scratches, and the car stays in original condition. According to the report at the time, the film is easy to care for and does not yellow.
