Aston Martin DBX

Starting point

The SUV from Aston Martin has a 4 litre V8 from AMG with 550 PS, the same engine that works in the Mercedes AMG GT. All-wheel drive and a 9-speed automatic take the roughly 2.2 tonnes from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds. The DBX wears matt paint, and matt paint cannot be polished. Scratches or stone chips can only be remedied here by repainting, if that is even wanted. All the more important, then, to protect the paint from scratches and above all from stone chips right from the start.

Work

Before wrapping, the matt paint was specially cleaned of contamination, because polishing is not an option. For matt paints there is a dedicated matt film, 200 µm thick. We work with our pre-cut film patterns so that as little cutting as possible has to be done on the paint. With paint protection films it is generally worth looking at a few points. How many years may the film stay on the paint? With us, 10 or 12 years according to the manufacturer’s warranty. How thick is it? With us 200 or 300 µm; it should not be thinner. How is it cared for? With us, with film care instructions and matched products. Can it make small scratches disappear under heat? Ours can. And who do you turn to if there are problems?

Result

The matt paint of the DBX is protected against stone chips and scratches by a 200 µm matt film. The project pictures show the work in detail.
