AMG GT Black Series

Starting point

Once again a new AMG GT Black Series came to us for a complete paint protection film wrap. This new car, however, had an unusual number of defects, which we documented during the inspection at the dealer: a paint chip on the rear bumper, verdigris on the wheels and one damaged wheel, a tear in the passenger seat, many dull patches and scratches in the paint, panels polished through, A-pillars painted too thinly, sanding marks on the underbody, defects in the exposed carbon with protruding fibres, and black specks in the clear coat. One new car is not the same as another; a close look at delivery is worthwhile.

Work

The rear bumper was repainted, and the wheels and the passenger seat were replaced. After the corrections to the car, the wrap in LLumar Valor began. According to the report at the time, the film is about 200 µm thick, self-healing and has a ceramic-like coating. It does not yellow or lose gloss, is recognised by insurers and, according to the manufacturer, can stay on the paint for up to twelve years. A warranty card and roll number are included. The roll number lets the manufacturer confirm that the film is genuine. Our pre-cut film patterns, tailored to the car, minimise cutting on the vehicle. All edges were wrapped wherever this was technically feasible. We are a certified LLumar and Gyeon team and hold the 1S certification for electric vehicles.

Result

The Black Series is fully wrapped, with wrapped edges for protection and looks. The photos were taken in the sun, without Photoshop or filters. The background story of the car and all the details are in our YouTube video. The film properties mentioned reflect the state of the report at the time.
