Starting point
A Harley-Davidson Nightster came to Schwaikheim with clear signs of use. The owner preferred to spend his time on the motorcycle rather than on its care and so put the bike in professional hands. The brief was not only to remove dull patches and scratches, but to treat all painted surfaces with the LZ 730 brilliance sealant so that future care would be easy. According to the report at the time, the five-layer sealant was intended to protect the tank from fuel residues as well as providing gloss. It was the first Harley-Davidson in the workshop.
Work
The work consisted of many hours spent on the smallest of surfaces. Deep scratches on the tank and the rear mudguard, caused by clothing and saddlebags, were carefully polished out. The dull patches on the so-called butter dish could also be removed completely. Finally all the chrome and painted elements were sealed with the LZ 730 brilliance sealant.
Result
The sport bike has its showroom character back: no scratches on the tank and mudguard, no dull patches, gleaming chrome and paint surfaces. That is how the Harley went into hibernation after the 2010 season. Anyone who keeps their motorcycle registered all year round and has not yet found time for intensive paint care can get an individual paint treatment in Schwaikheim.
