Ferrari Roma

The Ferrari Roma, named after the Italian capital, produces 620 PS from its 3.9 litre front mid-engine. Since the Roma has no rear silencer, it sounds remarkably good despite the petrol particulate filter. The car came to us as a new car only a few days old. The brief covered paint correction, paint protection film of the latest generation with a 12 year manufacturer’s warranty, and ceramic coating. A new car surely does not need paint correction, you might think. Anyone who knows our reports knows how poor new car paint can be. On the Roma the condition was good overall, apart from a few holograms.

Work

Because we are thorough, we first removed the holograms and only then began the wrap. The bonnet, wings and bumper including the grille were wrapped, all in 200 µm film. Here too we worked with our film plotter, so that as little cutting as possible has to be done on the film. According to the manufacturer’s figures in the report at the time, the new film generation offers a service life of up to twelve years with manufacturer’s warranty, a self-healing surface with a ceramic-like, hydrophobic top layer, 25 percent more resistance to staining and environmental influences and even easier cleaning, without yellowing or loss of gloss, recognised by insurers, with warranty card and roll number. One example of the new surface: our masking tape no longer sticks to this film. The new film also cannot be coated with a ceramic coating, as the coating does not yet bond to the film surface. Finally we coated the remaining paint and the plastic parts with our ceramic coating.

Result

The bonnet, wings and bumper are protected with the new film generation; the remaining paint and the plastic parts are ceramic coated. You can find the video of the project on YouTube.
