Starting point
The paint of this Aston Martin DB11 was badly marred by polishing marks, showed many dull patches and had overspray that needed removing. Some would say: film on and done. That makes no sense, because a stone chip protection film can neither level out nor cover up paint defects. According to the manufacturer it stays on the car for 5 or 10 years, and for that long the paint beneath cannot be reached for polishing. If the remaining paint were later polished and sealed, the area under the film would be dull and marred, with gloss right next to it. Even new cars do not always have perfect paint.
Work
That is why we first fully corrected the paint, removed the dull patches and the overspray and applied the LZ730 brilliance sealant. Only then did the paint protection film go onto the paint. Finally the stone chip protection film was sealed too, to make care easier. The huge bonnet, extra long and extra wide, gave us quite a few headaches.
Result
This system creates a made-to-measure paint finish with a depth of gloss that is the same everywhere. Anyone seeing the work in person has to search for the film: where is the cut, where is there any film at all? The bonnet turned out perfectly too.
